Benefits

• If a teddy has garter straps it is referred to as a teddiette.

• A one-piece garment with a panty style bottom fitting around the upper body.

BABY DOLL:

Benefits:

• o May be worn as an outfit, but not suitable as an undergarment due to its length.
• o Very comfortable for sleepwear
• o Excellent garment for women with very short or very long torsos.

Features:

• A one-piece garment open at the bottom covering down past the hip, usually accompanied with panty, open crotch, regular, or a g-string in matching fabric.

CAMI TAPS, CAMI BIKINIS:

Benefits:

• o May be worn as an outfit and very suitable as an undergarment due to the shorter length and classic design
• o Very comfortable for sleepwear
• o Excellent garment for women with very short or very long torsos.
• o Good item to sell to those looking for something sensual but not too revealing.
• o Usually a tailored classic cut garment with little or no embellishment
• o A cami has either spaghetti strap or wide strap shoulders but is always sleeveless.

Features:

• A two-piece garment. The top is a garment resembling a tank top called a camisole. We call it a “cami” for short. Usually the bottom is a boxer style pair of shorts that is referred to as a tap panty, or a tap for short.
• Occasionally the camisole is accompanied with a panty instead of a tap pant.

CHEMISE:

CORSETS, CORSELETS & GARTER BELTS:

Benefits:

• o They are functional to hold up stockings
• o May be worn as an outfit or as an undergarment
• o Corsets may be worn in place of a bra. If the straps are removable, they work well under strapless gowns.
• o Some corsets & corselets come with a matching panty or g-string at no extra charge.
• o Garter belts may be worn over or under the panties.

Features:

• Corsets: A Full torso & décolleté-covering garment with boning & garter straps. Shoulder straps & cup coverage is optional.
• Corselet: A Corset style without boning. They usually have non-detachable straps.
• Garter belts: a waist or hip belt worn for holding up stockings. The straps are sewn into place.
• If a belt is one size there is a slider adjustment in the back for sizing.
• If a belt is sized, it generally hooks in the back with no slider adjustment.

BRAS:

Benefits:

• Completes the panty, garter belt, & stocking look
• May be worn as an outfit or undergarment

Features:

• Under-wire: A bra with a half circle of wiring under the cup. This helps to add support.
• Pushup: An under-wire bra with fiberfill, foam or rubber pads placed under the cup to push the breast toward the top of the cup.
• Shelf Bra: An under-wire bra that only covers the lower part of the breast to just below the nipple
• Open Style: A soft cup or under-wire bra with a cut out at the nipple. Also known as a ‘peek-a-boo bra’
• Soft Cup: A bra with no under-wire

PANTIES:

This section includes: Open/Crotchless, Thong, ‘G’, & Regular Styles.

Benefits:

• o Finishes off outfits nicely – including chemises, nightshirts, baby dolls, bras, & garter belt sets.

Features:

• Regular Style: Full back panty garments in a variety of torso & side lengths.
• Bikini: Refers to a side that is at least an inch wide
• String Bikini: Refers to a side that is less than an inch wide.
• Hipster: Lays on the hips – belly button is usually exposed
• French Cut: Goes to the waist with exposed hips
• Thong back: Also known as a ‘T’ bar. This is a panty with the backside between ¼” & 2” in width. Any more than 2” is referred to as a ‘Culato’ or ‘Ukini” style. The width in the front will vary from thong to thong.
• ‘G-String’ or ‘G’: Triangle shaped front with back straps usually made from unfinished elastic. They are generally unlined.
• ‘Open’ or ‘Crotchless’ panties: Referred to as a crotchless panty if open in the front. If open only in the back, they are referred to as moonshine panties. Most open panties are ‘one size’.

MEN'A WEAR:

This section includes: Open/Crotchless, Thong, Boxer, & Regular Form

Benefits:

• o Allows a male to have sensual garments
• o May be worn as an outfit or an undergarment

Features:

• Regular Style: Full back brief garments that come in a variety of torso ans side lengths
• Bikini: Refers to a side that is at least an inch wide.
• String Bikini: Refers to a side that is less than an inch wide.
• Thong Back: Also known as a ‘T’ bar. This is a brief with the backside between ¼” & 2” in width. Any more than 2” is referred to as a ‘Culato’ or ‘Ukini” style. The width in the front will vary from thong to thong.
• Pouch: A sack shaped front with back straps usually made from unfinished elastic. They are generally unlined.

• Boxer: A shorts style brief with or without a fly. Most boxers are offered as unisex.

STOCKINGS:

The term “Stockings” is a broad category definition. Our stocking selection includes: stockings, thigh highs, body stockings, & pantyhose.

STOCKINGS:

• A full leg to the thigh garment with a plain of finished top.
• Garter belts are required to hold up the stockings.

THIGH HIGHS:

• A full leg to thigh garment with a finished top.
• The inside of the finish is coated with a band of rubber or a treatment of silicon. This allows the garment to stay in place with no garter belt, or to stay in place better with one.
• We recommend “at home use” when used without a garter belt. A garter belt is always recommended to insure a stocking stays in place for extended wear.

BODY STOCKINGS:

• A one-piece full body coverage garment with or without arms or feet.
• Generally they have an opening at the crotch.
• They may or may not have snaps at the crotch.

PANTYHOSE:

• o A full leg coverage garment. Pantyhose may be open or closed at the crotch.
• o The term ‘garter look’, ‘saddle’ or ‘suspender’ refers to a pair of pantyhose that is open in the front, back and at both sides, creating an illusion of a garter belt attachment.

Fabrications Used for Stockings:

LYCRA:

• A shiny, stretchy, flexible yarn that fits snugly to the leg.
• It won’t bag or sag at the leg ‘flex’ points & bounces back to shape after washing.

STRETCH NYLON:

• Flexible nylon yarn that fits semi-snug to the leg.

FISHNET:

• A grid pattern open weave stretch nylon yarn
• The open weave allows it to fit most sizes on a ‘one size’ stocking.
• Fishnet will not run, but will rip.
• Fishnet pantyhose may be cut into stockings without harming the fabric.

CUT & SEWN LACE:

• This term refers to any lace that is sewn together up the back of the leg or at both sides of the leg.
• This lace is generally computer woven and referred to as “stretch lace”.
• It is very flexible.
• Cut & sewn lace will not run & requires a great deal of stress to rip it. However, it may develop holes after a lot of wear.

Feature Descriptions:

LACE TOP:

• A trim finish at the top of a pair of stockings sewn onto the top edge
• The trim is usually a rose lace pattern.
• Generally, lace trim means the stocking is a thigh high.

BACK SEAM:

• A seam sewn into the back of a stocking.

GARTER TOP:

• Another term for a thigh high with a rubber banded top finish.

STAY-UPS:

• Another term for a thigh high.

Sizing:

• All stockings are available in one of the following array of sizes:
• o A, B, C, D (same as small, med, large, XL)
• o One Size, Queen Size
• With stretch nylon & lycra fabrics, sizing is geared specifically to accommodate width or length – A large will fit a short wide leg or a long skinny leg.
• Fishnet and Cut & Sewn lace are more liberal & universal with their sizing – The short wide leg or long skinny leg will take a small to medium.
• Always remember with stockings that you are not dealing with any measurement or weight factor above the thigh. The only concerns are the foot and leg area, including inseam, shoe size, and weight.
• Most stocking packages have a weight and height sizing descriptive on the back of the package. This works for most of your customers most of the time.

• In the stocking manufacturing industry there are two ways of production:
  • 1. Fabric is knitted tube style on a size form and spun onto a spool. When they are ready to cut the actual garment, they measure a particular length to small, medium, or large. Next, they sew shut the toe area, then finish the thigh area. This applies to stretch nylon, fishnet, and lycra fabrics.
  • 2. The fabric is computer woven and spun onto spools flat. The flat rolls are matched at the long edge or back seam of the stocking and sewn closed. They sew shut the toe and finish the thigh high area. This applies to back seam stockings and cut & sewn lace.
• o This is the reason why it’s easier to produce stockings in larger sizes with the flat computer woven yarns.
